Spend the night sleeping rough

CHESS (Chelmsford-based homeless charity is calling for business-people to join its sleep-out event and to spend the night sleeping rough.

Every year CHESS hosts its own Sleep Out in the grounds of Chelmsford Cathedral and last year’s participants raised over £20,000 for the charity. This year, it would like to raise even more and make it the biggest event ever.

The event takes place on Friday November 22 at Chelmsford Cathedral commencing at 7.30pm and finishing at 7.30am November 23. Registration is free and now open at https://chesshomeless.org/registration-form/

Due to the popularity of this event, people are encouraged to register their place in advance. If you are not able to pre-register you can just turn up on the night and register.

The event is professionally organised with marshals, hot food and drinks on hand and indoor cover/toilets.  Participants need to bring sleeping bags, ground mats, warm and waterproof clothes and a small tent if required

A host of Essex-based celebrities have been invited and, last year, Chelmsford MP Vicky Ford attended with a number of local dignitaries.
